A seminar was held after a tough time in placement office for the past three months.Lt. Col. Jaya kumar and dean student(s) Idichandy and AAS took over the dias for the evening. As expected CLT,the venue, was flooded.people didn't even care sitting on the floor to listen to them.
The sad thing this time the civil branch could not pla(y) cement with the companies.
Well, Col. with his stiff standing posture in perfect tone read some feedbacks given by companies. One of them being a GD was conducted among 8 people, out of which 7 made it as extempore and one didn't talk at all.Infact, the negatives are more. So,ended up in giving tips like
1.comb hair everyday
2. take a bath before going for an interview
3.read atleast half an hour a day.
jokes apart, these kind of suggestions are certainly needed for iitians.
With all best wishes, karnal handed over the mike to dean.
"i guess now all of you regret of not taking naval arch".dean delivered this proudly since 94% placed from his home department.Someone from the audience left a comment"luck by chance".The other departments were truly nowhere in the race.He made himself clear that "IIT never gauranteed 100% placements",which most of us had a misconception. On top of it, he adds that recision may still continue for few more quarters. This shook most of us from bottom.
His suggestions were peculiar
1. opt for higher studies
2.walk for halk an hour in the campus.
regarding the latter,he said"see the beautiful trees, colourful flowers...in the campus". he totally deviated from the topic, but bringing all his experience he some how related to this topic.walking everyday improves health and healthy body, brain works smarter.
he emphasized on having a quality of life and advised people to take jobs in PSU's instead of schlum dog.Lie is the meaning of satyam, clueless why he suddenly said this.
Something very obvious is most of the iitians lost their interest in core.many of them feel financial companies as their destiny.i personally feel that this attitude needs a change.
